Artist's Description

Initially, this building was a large hospice. Built in the beginning of the 19th century and burned down in 1900. At the beginning of the 20th century the building was built and still stands today. The architects who designed the building took part in a competition. The building is one of the last built in the city, but also one of the most impressive. At this moment they cover the outside of the building with an immense sheet with a print of the original outside of the building. As the building is undergoing restoration work, this print shows what it will look like when it is finished. This is a picture of one of the windows.

What was the story behind those buildings? Who used to live there? What purpose did these objects serve and why were they abandoned? This curiosity created a close bond between me and Urban photography and I have since visited so many beautiful locations all over the world.
