This is a photo of a marble (Carrera) quarry with a stunning reflection due to the water at the bottom. Years ago, the discovery of alpine newts blocked excavation in the quarry. Alpine newts are amphibians of a few centimeters which are protected by the WWF.

My name is Roman, an urban-obsessed and award winning photographer, born and raised in the enchanting South of the Netherlands. I shoot unique photos of undisclosed abandoned places. It is the area of Urban Photography. When I started my Urban photography journey, I mostly saw empty, abandoned and decayed buildings. It did not take long before curiosity struck me.
